Rainbows

What we do at Rainbows!

At Rainbows we do many different and exciting things!

We do lots of crafts, cooking and games.  We encourage the girls to choose as a group what we will be doing for the term.  It might be working towards a challenge badge, or just lots of things they want to do.

We try and meet up with other units and sections - like our normal campfire with Brownies and Guides.  We sometimes go on trips outside of our meeting place as well - like bowling, swimming and we have even had a trip to Cadburys World!

As part of Girlguiding UK we provide a safe friendly environment for girls only.  We give them the opportunity to make lots of new friends.  We encourage each girl to grow mentally and emotionally and become her own person.  We challenge each individual intellectually to think more about their life, beliefs and the world around them.  We help each girl to develop self-confidence with a range of activities.  We promote the 4 pieces of the Rainbow jigsaw look, learn, laugh and love as this aids in their personal development.

How to become a Rainbow…

To be a Rainbow you must be aged between 5 and 7 years old and be a girl.

To join a Rainbow unit you go on to https://enquiryym.girlguiding.org.uk and fill in the prospective Rainbow’s information. This information is then processed and sent onto your nearest unit. As long as the prospective Rainbow is within the age bracket and there is a space you will be invited to attend an evening.

If there are no spaces they will be placed on the unit’s waiting list, and as soon as there is a space you will be contacted to see if you are still interested, and invited to an evening.

If your prospective Rainbow is younger than 5 don’t worry! You can still fill in all her details on the link above. She will then go straight onto the waiting list for your nearest unit. Once she is 5 and there is a space you will be contacted to see if you are still interested, and invited to an evening.
