Brookside Methodist Church

Through God's Grace we seek to make Brookside Methodist Church a place for everyone to come together and allow Jesus and the Holy Spirit to make a lasting difference in our lives, community and church.

Weekly Information

Saturday 4th May 10.00 - 3.00  Lend a Hand Day

Something we are often asked is whether the church st ill runs a group for very young children and their carers.  Over the years we have run several such groups, with the most recent closing a while ago.  However, plans are in hand to reopen a group, and our own Pre-school has generously agreed to release a trained member of staff to help with this.

To enable this new initiative to get going (hopefully after the half term break) we need to have a rota of volunteers from the church family who would be able to give a couple of hours on  a  Wednesday  morning to offer a welcoming smile and a friendly word and to make drinks for everyone. If we get lots of volunteers the duties will come round less frequently ~ BUT if not enough of you come forward to help we will not be able to go  ahead with these plans. Please see Sue Grice to add your name to the list.

A message from Rev Langley

Greetings everyone.   Our third gathering as we discern how God is leading us to support each other as a Circuit of Churches will be on Saturday 18th May, from 10 – 12.30 at Brookside Methodist Church.

Even though we are at Sankofa 3, we still welcome newcomers. We will be joined by Rev Kim Shorley from our District Mission Team. Kim's remit is to encourage New Places for New People, beginning with small groups.  We need you there because nothing has been decided.    We want to 'Go for Growth'; and we need to hear your views on some challenging ideas.  (More details will be available shortly).
